Paper Bird believes that all children should be afforded quality literature to develop not only literacy skills, but an enjoyment of reading. We support and celebrate our local authors and illustrators, giving voice and engaging with home grown stories.
The Paper Bird Dozens are a set of core lists of children's literature, packaged and designed for school and home libraries, tailed to each year group (Y-6). These have been curated by Paper Bird staff, with input from our resident Development Speech Pathologist, Sue Gawned.
The books included in these sets are designed to encourage both reading with parents and teachers, and reading independently. Each set has been curated with a variety of interests in mind, and with careful consideration of reading levels. We have put together our recommendations with the belief that every child should be given the opportunity to find themselves in a story.
This program is available to both schools and parents. For more information, and to subscribe to the Paper Bird Dozens, please email us firstname.lastname@example.org.
